QUARTZ
. s. m.
(On prononce Couartz. ) T. de Minéralogie. Mot emprunté de l'allemand. Substance minérale de la classe des pierres, assez dure pour rayer le verre, auquel elle ressemble beaucoup. Le quartz, réduit en poudre, est la base du verre.
